icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Medical Officer with the Systems Vaccinology under the Centre for Vaccine Sciences. The appointment will be made on a Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis for 3 months, which may be renewable depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Duty Station: Matlab, Chandpur

Salary: Tk.71,155/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. No other benefit is admissible.
Job Profile
- Motivate and enroll study participant's, take relevant morbidity information and perform anthropometric and Nitric Oxide (NO) measurement;
- Perform lung function test of children, take informed consent and ensure proper collection of samples (e.g. air, blood and urine);
- Follow up of study participant's, write progress reports and notify any adverse event or field calamities to the PI as per need;
- Rotate weekly in different household in the different blocks of Matlab, diagnose and prescribe study subjects, if necessary;
- Supervise the staff, maintain good communication with different officers and staff of GoB, NGO and others to accomplish the study properly.
Requirements
- MBBS degree recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) with completed internship;
- 3 years experience in the relevant field;
- Knowledge to communicate with the study participants
- Proper safety knowledge in collecting biological samples;
- Knowledge in blood drawing from children and in anthropometric measurement;
- Sufficient knowledge on the safety procedures of the laboratory;
- Good clinical and diagnostic skills including research and activities;
- Must have strong supervision, coordination, monitoring, interpersonal and communication skills.
