Duties

• Help-desk Management: Provide support to staff on use of hardware and software, trouble shooting etc. Day to day network administration and support including resolution of network user problems.

• Systems Administration: Perform daily systems check of servers based on Windows Server 2003 and workstation based Windows XP Professional, Ensure daily data backup is successful and perform quarterly restore tests. Check regular Anti-virus update is taking place, perform manual updates if automatic updates are failing and report IT Manager immediately if manual updates are fails.

• Users Training: Provide training to staff as necessary to improve their knowledge of systems and software. Thereby exploiting the best of IT systems. Provide on the spot training as per users needs/requests.

• Maintain IT Inventory

• Provide IT support to all British Council offices in Bangladesh.

• Provide IT support to BC events.

Clerk - ICDDR,B

ICDDR,B invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Clerk with the Procurement & Materials Unit of Finance Department under the Executive Director's Division at Dhaka. The appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for 2 years.

Salary -Annual Salary - Tk.180,290/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances with other admissible benefits.

Job Profile

• Able to check stock requisitions and issue materials to user accordingly and arrange to deliver the stock items for Matlab Health Research Centre against Stock Transfer Requisition;

• Check the balance quantity of stock items and raise/prepare indent for local and overseas procurement as per re-order level maintaining re-order quantity for safety stock;

• Able to take periodical and yearly inventory and identify obsolete, slow moving and expired items accordingly;

• Able to recognize substandard goods delivered by the supplier, take necessary measures, find out alternative means of solution and inform supervisor to determine the best alternative;

• Ensure that the materials are received as per specification and in good condition. Also ensure that the risky items are delivered with preventive caution to minimize risk;

• Able to take decision individually in case of absence of the supervisor.


Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in any discipline;

• Minimum 3 years working experience in store keeping or related fields;

• Should be able to pursue with the supplier to ensure timely supply in order to meet urgent needs of the requisitions as well as to replace the supplied items incase of substandard goods;

• Needs to be tactful, and polite;

• Computer skills in MS Word & Excel and ability to draft correspondence;

• Sound knowledge about filing & record keeping;

• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bangla.
