Main Responsibilities:

The Chief Chemist / Manager-Quality will report to Head of the Company. He will coordinate with Production Manager in terms of quality of finished products, inspections and audit activities within the Plant.

  • Responsible for leading and independently managing all Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities, along with development, implementation & surveillance of QMS, EMS & FSMS for the purpose of continuous improvement and corrective actions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the FAO Representative in Bangladesh, the incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the field projects, in particular he/she will:

  • Act as focal point for all projects operational matters;

Work Relationships

As direct support to the FAO Representative, liaison with the Assistant FAOR (Programme) and with the project managers, the incumbent is in frequent contact with most staff of the office, with internal and external project staff and with enquirers from within and outside of the Organization. The incumbent communicates with staff in Headquarters, with Regional and Sub-regional technical and operations staff, with responsible staff from UN /UNDP units in the country, as well as with staff and managers of local institutions and suppliers.

Qualification Requirements and Competencies
Education:
University Degree in Agriculture, Economics supplemented by master in Agriculture Economics or related subject. Specialized training in project management and programme operations.

Work Experience:
Essential: Six years of progressively technical, operational, and project management experience preferably with a large UN or International Organization.
Desirable: Familiarity with FAO and/or UN field programme management procedures and guidelines.

Languages:
Working knowledge (level C) of the FAO official language used for communication within the country (English, French or Spanish) and working knowledge of the local language(s) is required.

IT Skills:
Ability to effectively use standard office software, such as MS Office (Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Exchange). Ability to effectively use project management software and other information systems /databases.
Desirable: Knowledge of FAO’s corporate information systems, such as COIN (Country Office Information System) and FPMIS (Field Programme Management Information System).

Project and Work Management Skills:
Good knowledge of FAO’s operational guidelines and project / programme management procedures. Systematic and efficient approach to work assignments, very good judgment and analytical ability. Ability to structure and convey information in an appropriate, professional format. Actively support new ideas to streamline working methods. Recognize sensitive / confidential material and handle it with a high level of discretion. Exercise diligence in dealing with project resources. Ability to carry out and manage a high number of diverse and complex assignments and to cope with an increased volume of work during peak periods.

Interpersonal Communications and Teamwork Skills:
The incumbent must possess a cooperative spirit, flexibility and openness to work in an international environment within a team of staff with mixed skills and different national and cultural backgrounds. He / she must be willing to share information, tasks and ideas to ensure efficient teamwork and achievement of shared goals. He / she must be able to establish good working relationships and liaise with supervisor(s), project managers, and staff members from within and outside the Organization. Programme Officer - Save the Children

Programme Officer: Child Sexual Abuse, Exploitation & Trafficking (CSAET)

The main objectives of this position are to promote CRC within the organization and among Partners on Child Rights Programming approach and to strengthen psycho-social support mechanism for the children who have been sexually abuse, exploited and trafficked.

Key Duties:

  • Responsible for technical assistance to partner organizations to ensure efficient programme delivery and to foster partnership with an aim to achieve the organizational strategic objectives.
  • Have to implement activities of thematic programme as an active part of Child Sexual Abuse, Exploitation & Trafficking (CSAET) Thematic team.
  • Have to contribute to the development of project strategies & plans and assisting Programme Coordinator in advocacy initiatives in the local, national and regional context.
  • Work proactively with project management responsibility under supervision of the Programme Coordinator and monitor the project progress against the agreed objectives and provide support to partner NGOs, children's groups to strengthen their work & promote child rights issues.

Key Qualification and Experience:

  • Masters in Social Science or Development related subject.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in INGOs/NGOs on related field of working with child rights issues.
  • Must have working experience with sexually abuse, exploited and trafficked children and a strong field based experience.
  • Working experience on planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of works at grass root level along with the Partner NGOs, preferably with participation of children.
  • Working experience on PD preparation, report writing, budget preparation and follow-up, as well as capacity building of partners.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in development of project strategies, plans and advocacy

Project Coordinator - Save the Children

Project Coordinator: CSR-Child Labour Project

The main objective of this position is to communicate and maintaining close relationship to the corporate and business associations/organizations as well as partners of SCSD for advocacy and capacity building on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues. Also the objective of this position is to provide technical assistance to increase knowledge and application of responsible approaches to child labour and CSR issues among garment companies, law makers, consumers, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders in Bangladesh and achieve the Save the Children Sweden–Denmark strategic objectives on CSR.

Key Duties:

  • Work proactively to represent the CSR issue in various forum/meeting and explore advocacy potentials.
  • Work proactively for ensuring the group dynamic including organizations/partners involvement and ensure the meetings are held regularly to review the progress of planned activities.
  • Capacity building on child labour and child rights development of child centered CSR training.
  • Ensure the work plans in cooperation with SCSD's partners.
  • Ensure project implementation, reporting, coordination, work plans, budget, monitoring and other reporting according to regulations.
  • Assess project progress and utilization of budget of the project on a quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for being head and coordinate Project Management Committee and the local Advisory Group.
  • Have to develop of project strategies, plans and advocacy.
  • Assist in the marketing of the project and development of advocacy activities.
  • Have to develop website and communication materials.
  • Have to working with Child Labour Theme and other Thematic areas.

Qualification and experience:

  • Masters in Development Studies / Social Science or MBA with relevant working experience.
  • A minimum of 7-8 years experience of working with development sector preferably with INGOs/NGOs.
  • Experience in project management and management of partners.
  • Experience in development of project strategies, plans and advocacy.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Working experience on development of website and communication materials will be treated as an added qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills both in English and Bangla.
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office, e-mail and internet.

Monthly consolidated salary will be Taka 40,000 in addition to other admissible benefits for the position. The duration of the position will be for 3 years.

As Head of Projects in this department, the incumbent would be responsible for managing all the successful implementation, coordination, control, and stakeholder relationships related to Data and VAS projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Head the project management section for all the projects under Data & VAS Department
  • Responsible for the implementation and timely delivery of all the projects under Data & VAS through understanding and managing marketing scopes from product developers and complement with requirements form other stakeholders, i.e. IT, Technical, Marketing Communication, SCM, Customer Support, etc
  • Work with all the internal and external stakeholders in the value chain to ensure projects are implemented on time, within stipulated budget and scope
  • Managing resources, Interact with cross functional departments for project implementation
  • Keeping all project stakeholders informed of progress, changes by controlling risks and budgets
EDUCATION :
  • Bachelor/Masters, preferably in business from any reputed university
  • Graduation in any technical discipline will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE :
  • Minimum 4-6 years of work experience in managing projects including large projects with proven track record
  • Experience in managing projects in telecom industries will be preferred
