Job Description / Responsibility

  • Ensure successful implementation and effective management of the project activities
  • Organize and facilitate training, meeting and workshop at local and national level in consultation with Oxfam and NGO Forum management.
  • Prepare high quality project reports which include: monthly, quarterly, annual and other reports as per the need of the project and as requested by donor
  • Develop good quality documentation on processes, achievements, learning and challenges throughout the project implementation
  • Ensure quarterly meeting with the donor are taking place for reviewing project performance to discuss problems identified and finding out appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure proper implementation of policies, requirement and procedure of all project activities are accordance with organization and donor’s compliance and guideline
  • Attend Seminar/Workshop/Meeting/Training as per requested by NGO Forum and Oxfam.
  • Develop project monitoring and evaluation in coordination with the donor and ensure its proper implementation
  • Joint the field visit to Oxfam’s other project location as requested as part of linkage and knowledge sharing within the same project
  • Supervise the work of DIPECHO’s Junior Finance and Logistic Officer and ensure he/she perform the assigned tasks
  • Explore, develop and maintain good relations with project beneficiaries, partners and stakeholders;
  • Establish and maintain good relationship with MoDMR, DDM & other line departments, CDMP, FSD, AFD, RAJUK, BP, UDD and any other stakeholders related to the project.
  • Ensure proper and regular communication on project related information with the donor and related departments within the organization and with other important stakeholders when necessary.
  • Carry out frequent visit to different related partners and stakeholders
  • Maintain close communication and liaison with media personnel
  • Keep close contact/coordination with other agencies related to the implementation of the project such as NARRI partners and other partners of Oxfam (e.g. VARD in Sylhet)
  • Oversee project’s financial and logistic needs and flows and provide in-hand support when needed
  • Review and check the monthly financial expenses report in-line with the approved budget and ensure its quality and on-time submission to the donor
  • Approve all types of project expense related to project implementation and ensure the process is following appropriate procedure and accordance with donor compliance
  • Contribute in analyzing and planning of project allocated budget

Educational Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Social Science or Disaster Management or any DRR related field

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Project Coordinator/ Officer
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGOs, Development Agencies

Additional Job Requirements
  • Age below or equal to 40 year(s)
  • 5 years professional experience in humanitarian and development especially on disaster management/ DRR related field (experience working with ECHO/DIPECHO funded Project is an added value)
  • Experience in coordination with partners, developing partner relationships, and capacity building
  • Experience in interaction with high level government officials will be an added value
  • Working experience in NGO/INGO
  • Understanding on Project Cycle Management
  • Good knowledge and understanding on national and other relevant disaster management policies including SoD, National Act on DM, National Building Code etc and other DRR/DM related stakeholders, activities/programme in Bangladesh particularly related to earthquake in urban context;
  • Knowledge of HAP, SPHERE, HFA
  • Good coordination, communication, liaison and advocacy skills
  • Skill in conducting discussion and meetings
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills
  • Good analytical skill
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic knowledge of project budgeting and forecast
  • Diversity and Gender Sensitiveness
  • Ability to work in a team and possess good commitment and integrity.
  • Good time management
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written is essential
  • Computer Skills: (MS Office)
