Job Description / Responsibility

OBJECTIVE 1 : PARTICIPATE IN FOOD SECURITY & LIVELIHOOD ASSESSMENT

  • Participate in development of the assessment plan
  • Participate in development of the assessment tools and interview checklist, translate into Bengali, field-testing before finalizing the tools & checklists.
  • Assist PM for assessment staff training
  • Collection of secondary data from related offices and departments;
  • Organize FGD, KII and individual household interview according to the plan under guidance
  • Ensure that all logistics & stationeries are available during assessment data collection
  • Enter data into computer data base for assessment and surveys.
  • Document qualitative information from the field survey and provide all information to the PM for analysis and reporting.
OBJECTIVE 2: ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES FOLLOW-UP AND MONITORING.
  • Participate in developing assessment monitoring tools.
  • Day to day follow-up and monitoring of the assessment data collection process,
  • Provide day to day information to the PM regarding data collection and ensure corrective measure to avoid errors
  • Provide day to day suggestions to the PM to improve the quality of survey activities (FGDs, KIIs etc.)
OBJECTIVE 3 : LIAISON WITH COMMUNITY, STAKEHOLDERS AND AUTHORITIES
  • Community mobilization about the assessment work
  • Communication with people’s representatives
  • Communication with authorities and all other stakeholders
  • Develop schedule for KII with the people’s representatives and authorities with guidance of PM
  • Regular monitoring and follow-up the project’s progress.
  • Assist PM in writing relevant reports (APR, donor report, monitoring report, etc.)
  • This job is for 5 months duration

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Science, Rural Development or related field

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 2 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGOs

Additional Job Requirements
  • Proven experience with NGO in Food Security, Livelihoods, Humanitarian or related field : at least 2 years
  • Proven professional experience in social research and familiar with PRA, assessment and survey
  • Good knowledge on rural livelihoods, analytical capacity
  • Good knowledge on research methodology
  • Familiar with PRA tools & techniques, organizing & conducting FGD, KII and household interview, monitoring the data collection process
  • Computer knowledge (Word, Excel), training & facilitation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and writing), autonomy and flexibility.
