ASSISTANT PROGRAMME OFFICER: SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh

SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh is a private, non-political and non-denominational child welfare organization provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Villages take full care and responsibilities for these children till they are integrated into society and can live independently on their own income. Within a caring family environment in SOS Children’s Villages children find a secure base from which they can take steps to become self-supporting and contributing members of society. SOS Children’s Villages International, the mother organization of SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh is the largest private child welfare organization presently working in 133 countries and territories around the world. POSITION: ASSISTANT PROGRAMME OFFICER

Main Duties and Responsibilities

•     Sensitive and qualified care of children and young people
•     Education, forming relationships and individual support of children
•     Work with SOS Mothers, local community, supervision of various tasks and leisure time activities
•     Planning, documentation and implementation of target agreements
•     Caring for groups of children together with other staff
•     Assistance in the support of children and young people

Requirements

•     Bangladeshi nationals having Masters in MSS/M.Sc,/M.A not less than 2nd Division/Class in any public examination
•     Applicant should not be more than 35 years of age
•     Ability to work under pressure and in a team and enjoyment in working with children
•     Flexibility and commitment
•     Willingness to receive regular training and skill enhancement, supervision and reflection
•     Identification with the idea and the goals of SOS Children‘s Villages

Experience:  Work experience in child welfare organization will be preferred
