Conducting Study on Parenting Practices Related to Addressing Reproductive Health Issues of Adolescents

Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization with no religious, political or government affiliations and is working in 70 countries across the globe with its headquarters in the UK. Plan works with over one million children, their families and communities in 50 developing countries around the world, implementing projects at the grass root and national level in health, education, water and sanitation, income generation and cross cultural communication. Plan is registered with the United Nations following recognition in 1989 and has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and UNICEF.

We are looking for consulting agency/consultant(s) to conduct a study which will provide clear information on whether parents talk with their children (boys and girls) on reproductive health issues concerning physical and mental changes; how do they practice parenting; and what is the difference of parenting style between father and mother as per the objective set in the terms of reference.

Expected deliverables:   The consulting agency/consultant(s)  is expected to produce a qalitative report on the findings of the study within 60 days of signing of the contract.

Profile of the Consultant: The expected competencies of the consultant/consulting agency should have:

  •     Experience in working in the area of Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) and strong knowledge about the ARH initiatives in Bangladesh;
  •     Strong knowledge in participatory approach in development and child rights;
  •     Knowledge on adolescent parenting;
  •     Expertise in conducting quantitative and qualitative studies;
  •     Analytical skill in assessing the ARH program interventions; and
  •     Expertise in providing necessary training to appropriate human resources for administering data collection, quality control of data, data entry and management

Submission of Proposal:
Interested consultant (s) / consulting agencies may submit their technical and financial proposal in a sealed envelope separately. Envelop must be marked with the title of the assignment.  Proposals must be dropped at Plan Bangladesh Country Office, House # CWN (B) 14, Road # 35, Gulshan - 2, Dhaka 1212. The deadline for proposal submission is 5 PM, 22 February 2012.
